Designing Sustainable Routes for Next-Generation Devices Based on Novel Chiral Nanomaterials (NextGenNano)

Chirality, the concept of “handedness,” is found everywhere in nature – from our hands to the DNA in our cells to the very spin of an electron. Chirality is a powerful mode of interaction, and chiral nanomaterials provide a unique platform to manipulate and control the chiral entities all around us. By harnessing the exceptional properties of these very small (nano), chiral materials, we can address major challenges in areas such as healthcare, information processing, and climate and the environment.
NextGenNano aims to engineer novel chiral nanomaterials using solution-processable production and processing methods which are scalable, efficient, and inexpensive. In focusing on these aspects, our goal is to ensure that these innovative materials are ready to be used in everyday applications while paving a way for sustainable future development.
